Duchess China have been manufacturing classically designed patterned ranges of Fine Bone China products in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
I had a wonderful tour around Duchess China's warehouse and was fascinated by each manufacturing process and how many people are involved in the company. I couldn't believe the transfer designs are individually placed by hand. The printed transfers were placed into a liquid and the employees would then take each motif out of the water and place onto the ceramic. One lady was placing individual flowers inside a tea cup - I was and still am blown away by the intricacy and patience!
Everyone was so inviting and friendly. I had a lovely day seeing where the Liverpool Toile luncheon wall plates were made and meeting the people involved in the process.
